ShareI finally got around to working out a few bugs in the WordPress theme that I’ve been using (K2). I’ve been watching the K2 release candidates regularly for updates so that I could fix this once and for all. My sidebars were disappearing randomly, rendering my sidebar content relatively useless. Hopefully this will work better.
It may break again the next time I upgrade WordPress.
I’ve added a couple of new photgraphy sites to the blogroll, so please check out those links. The time has come to _blank_ or get off the pot as far as blogging is concerned, so I will try to find some genuinely interesting info to post here in the coming days, weeks and months. Thanks for reading!

Another photo taken with the 70-300 mm zoom. After hearing people talk about it, I am really starting to appreciate “bokeh“. This photo was taken at the Ecomuseum in Sainte Anne de Bellevue, Quebec. The subject is a red-tailed hawk.

This is a picture that I took of my daughter with a 70-300mm zoom lens. It is one of a series that I took in continuous shoot mode and I think this one turned out the best.
I used Photoshop to remove some strawberry stains from around her mouth!

We travelled to New York with some friends and kids in tow. I had never been to NYC before. It was sensory overload, but great fodder for photography. In about 48 hours, I fired off almost 400 shots.
I’ll be posting more to Flickr over the next few days.

My daughter has started exploring the backyard. Not only is she examining the perimeter, but she is taking the time to taste some of it!

ShareFrom Wired:
“The internet is to human interaction as Pringles are to potatoes. Companionship and closeness are processed into an unrecognizable slurry, then reconstituted as an unnatural recreation of their original incarnation.”

ShareA student of mine recommended a great Flash video tool called video.Maru. It’s a component which allows a developer to create customized video players without any knowledge of ActionScript.
All you have to do is create MovieClips on the stage with the correct names. I am experimenting with it now and will post some more impressions here as I go along.
